GFFE Receives ARPA Grant

GFFE Site Editor

Guilford, Connecticut (December 7, 2023) ─ In a significant community milestone, The Guilford Foundation (TGF) and the Town of Guilford announced the allocation of $1 million in federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to support local nonprofits in their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The $1 million allocation is an investment in the well-being and prosperity of our town. By supporting local nonprofits, we are advancing the resilience and strength of our community. The Foundation staff is working with the town to disburse the funds in a timely manner to facilitate the swift implementation of the organization’s programs and initiatives,” added Executive Director Liza Janssen Petra.

GFFE is grateful to have been awarded an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant from The Guilford Foundation! GFFE was one of 34 local non-profit organizations that had their ARPA grant application approved, and we are thrilled that we have been awarded the full amount of $55,000. This grant reflects GFFE's loss of fundraising through events during the COVID pandemic. The funds will allow GFFE to provide more educational grant awards, respond to educational opportunities for our youth as they arise, and meet strategic goals.
